Supported housing provides safe, stable homes for thousands of people across our communities, including older residents, care leavers, and those living with physical or mental health needs. It’s not just a roof over someone’s head, it’s a vital support system that helps people live independently, with dignity and security.

I recently visited Cotton Mill House, built and operated by Jigsaw Homes Group, which provides accommodation and support for people who have experienced homelessness. I got to meet staff and residents and hear their experiences of the practical and emotional support they are receiving to empower them to move onto more permanent housing. This supported housing is a real chance for residents to make important changes in their lives and move away from homelessness for good.

Thank you to Brian, Roli, Kerrie, Linda and Catherine at Jigsaw and the residents of Cotton Mill House for welcoming me and sharing their experiences.
