Jonathan Reynolds MP Proudly serving the communities of Stalybridge, Hyde, Mossley, Longdendale and Dukinfield
Hospices like Willow Wood have been a lifeline for so many in our community, offering compassionate support during the most difficult times. Their work is invaluable, and their impact on local families cannot be overstated. It was great to hear from CEO Tracey Minshull at the end of last year about the important service they provide.
That’s why it’s fantastic news that more than 170 hospices across England are set to benefit from a record £75 million investment — the largest ever cash injection. This funding will help ensure that patients receive the highest standard of end-of-life care in settings that are comfortable, dignified, and well-equipped, with improvements such as specially adapted beds, upgraded rooms, and modern technology.
It’s amazing to hear that Willow Wood Hospice will receive £181,000. This investment will make a meaningful difference to a vital local service that so many rely on. It’s another step forward in the delivery of the government’s Plan for Change, bringing better care closer to home where people need it most.
