Post Office Ltd have been in touch with me to provide an update on Hyde Post Office. To allow the transition from a Crown Post Office to a franchised status, the branch will close on Wednesday 1 October at 3pm and will reopen on Thursday 2 October at 1pm.

This transition will enable Post Office Ltd to fund increases in pay for postmasters, build a more sustainable network of post offices across the UK, all while continuing to deliver the services currently provided by Crown branches.

In practice, this means that the branch will continue to operate from the same premises, with customers being able to access the same products and services with the same opening hours.
