Every day our teams of volunteers are out campaigning across Stalybridge, Hyde, Mossley, Longdendale and Dukinfield, as well as in key seats across the country. I’m extremely grateful to them for their hard work, taking not a single vote for granted, and to all the residents who are taking the time to share their hopes and concerns with us. I’m also very much enjoying our #DogOfTheDay banter. We are excited to find every Tory to Labour swing voter on the doorsteps, but nothing cheers me up quite like a waggy canine friend delighted to see us!
It was very special to welcome former British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Anwar Choudhury to join us on the campaign trail in Hyde. Anwar has a highly distinguished diplomatic record, and I valued hearing his insights.
It is important to note that the outcome of this election is not a forgone conclusion locally or nationally. Your vote really matters. There are a number of ways you can get involved in the campaign locally. First of all, register to vote, and make sure your friends and neighbours have! The deadline is 11:59 this Tuesday so to make sure you have your say, register now. You can also apply for a postal vote to give yourself more flexibility in when you vote (this also means no scrabbling round for your ID come polling day). If you’re feeling really enthused by the change we hope to bring for Britain, why not join Labour? There’s never been a better time to be part of our movement.
