It was great to visit the Vaillant UK factory in Belper, Derbyshire this last week with Keir Starmer. Companies like Vaillant who have diversified into heat pumps show the opportunity in clean energy for those willing to grasp it: lower bills, energy security and millions of jobs. The next Labour government will invest in new industries and partner with business, in our mission to give Britain clean power by 2030.

It was  also brilliant to speak to activists and co-operators across our movement at Co-Op Conference and also Bury Labour last weekend. Labour are ready and waiting to present a fairer, greener more competent alternative to the current mess

It was interesting to go on Peston to explain why the Tories borrowing money to fund tax cuts is as foolish as it is wrong. Confidence in their grasp of the economy remains in crisis, and at the time of writing this, we’ve now seen the back of the Chancellor and the Prime Minister. I continue to have meetings with business CEOs and trade union leaders alike who are both crying out for change. The UK needs competent, stable leadership to get us through these challenging times to a brighter, fairer future. The Tories continue to wreak havoc and chaos.
