I really enjoyed visiting TalkTalk HQ yesterday. With 1800 staff, they are one of the biggest employers in Greater Manchester. It’s hugely significant to have tech companies head quartered here rather than in the South East. TalkTalk did great work on youth employment during the pandemic and continue to provide quality jobs in a great place to work. Find out more here.

Last week I was proud to make a keynote speech in the City laying out Labour’s vision for business growth. Labour will work with all sectors to deliver good jobs with good wages in every region. We will partner with business to produce an ambitious industrial strategy that reduces inequality and encourages long-term investment across the UK. I explained why for me, this mission is personal. It was an honour to have a packed room of VIP guests turn out to listen, from business to the media to the trade union movement, including broadcaster Sir Tony Robinson and Finsbury Founder Roland Rudd. You can find coverage of the speech and the full text here and view my video from the UK Finance visit here.

There was also more great coverage of Labour’s renewed relationship with the business community and my recent visit to Sunderland in a profile piece in The Mirror.
