Stationery Business Celebrates Success

A STATIONERY company that's going from strength to strength has celebrated its success, with an official opening ceremony in Hyde.

The team of staff at Herlitz UK Ltd, in Newton, Hyde, produce up to 75,000 of Lever Arch files every day. And they supply files to some of the country's best known retailers and office suppliers.

On Friday they celebrated the official opening of their headquarters, on Talbot Road, Newton, Hyde. And at the event officials from German based parent company Herlitz AG were joined by local councillors, Mayor Cllr Jean Brazil and Stalybridge and Hyde MP Jonathan Reynolds.

Following the opening Stalybridge and Hyde MP Jonathan Reynolds said: "The current economic climate is making it difficult for a number of businesses - but Herlitz is a local company that is still doing really well.

"The team of 25 staff at the company produce thousands of folders every day, which are sold by leading retailers right across the country.

"I was delighted to share in their success, when they officially opened their base in Newton. They have found that Tameside is a great place to base a business. And I wish them every success for the future."

Herlitz UK Ltd was initially set up in Manchester in 1999 as a sales and marketing operation for German company Herlitz PBS AG.

Herlitz AG is a leading manufacturer and supplier of all types of stationery items to retail outlets and offices. And in 2005 Herlitz UK started to produce Lever Arch Files in Droylsden.

By 2009 Herlitz UK was doing so well they moved to their current Talbot Road premises to accommodate additional machinery storage and warehousing. On Friday the company finally decided to officially celebrate the move with staff, colleagues - including 18 German colleagues - and guests.
