For generations pubs have been right at the heart of our communities
A meeting place to relax with friends, to meet with business colleagues or to compete in games, like darts or snooker.
Now many are the lifeblood of Sunday football leagues and some offer less traditional services, like playgroups or senior citizens clubs.
Jonathan believes our communities would be poorer without the network of pubs we have thoughout the country. Yet the economic climate and other factors now mean that many pubs are actually fighting for their survival.
The 'Save the Pub' APPG has been launched in recognition of the pressures that pubs now face. And it aims to bring together supporters from the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
Jonathan hopes that through his membership of the APPG he will be able to add his voice to the ongoing efforts to preserve and protect the British pub.
