A FAMILY trip to the park has been immortalised in ink – after cartoonist Tony Husband sketched Jonathan Reynolds and his family as part of Tameside’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Tony – whose work regularly appears in Private Eye – was in Stamford Park to compile a special Jubilee Book as part of celebrations organised by Tameside Council.
Among the visitors he sketched were MP Jonathan Reynolds, wife Claire and daughter Bess - along with dogs Clinton and Kennedy.
“The Diamond Jubilee celebrations have really brought communities together,” said Mr Reynolds. “And clearly this is an occasion that people will want to remember for some time to come.
“Of course photographs of the street parties and events held across Tameside will be treasured for years to come and shared with future generations.
“But these cartoons by Tony Husband - whose artwork can be funny and thought-provoking – will record our local celebrations in a unique way. “I am sure the Jubilee Book will be much appreciated by the people of Tameside.”
