STALYBRIDGE and Hyde MP Jonathan Reynolds popped in to congratulate landlord Tom Hathaway – after his Stalybridge pub was named regional ‘pub of the season’ by CAMRA.
Tom has been running the White House, on Water Street, for the past year. He prides his pub on the quality and range of cask ales – alongside the warm welcome he offers to customers.
And now the High Peak and the North East Cheshire branch of CAMRA have named his pub as their ‘Pub of the Season’ for winter 2012.
Earlier this month he was presented with a certificate by CAMRA representatives. And this week Stalybridge and Hyde MP Jonathan Reynolds popped in to pass on his congratulations.
He said: “This is clearly a pub that prides itself on its warm welcome. And I am delighted that their hard work has been recognised in this way by CAMRA.
“This is a pub that is brimming with traditional charm and it is now proving to be a real asset to the town centre.
“Tom is obviously working hard to make the White House one of Stalybridge’s success stories – and I wish him every continued success for the future.”
