A YOUNG band from Stalybridge could have their music heard by some of the top musicians in the music industry, after being nominated for a national competition by MP Jonathan Reynolds.
The friends formed their band – Surrender Silence – just over a year ago. They rehearse twice a week at Mossley Youth Base, and have already played their thrash metal in front of live audiences.
Earlier this month they sent their track – Kill the Pain – to Stalybridge and Hyde MP Jonathan Reynolds. And he was so impressed that he has nominated the band for the ‘Rock the House 2012’ competition.
Surrender Silence will now be judged against bands from across the country and could win the chance to have their music listened to by some of the country’s top music professionals.
Mr Reynolds said: "More than 100 bands have already been nominated for the Rock the House 2012 so I’m sure competition will be tough.
"But this is obviously a talented group of young people who are determined to work hard and I wish them well, both in this competition and for the future."
