STRUGGLING families across Tameside are being given vital help and support by the organisation Home Start.
Home Start brings together a network of volunteers who visit families in their own homes to offer whatever help, support and advice that's needed.
And Stalybridge and Hyde MP Jonathan Reynolds recently joined the Home Start team to celebrate their successes at their Open Day.
At the event were staff, organisers and volunteers, as well as Denton and Reddish MP Andrew Gwynne and Cllr Jim Fitzpatrick.
Jonathan said: "Bringing up a young family is a rewarding experience, but it can also bring its own pressures. And not everyone finds it easy to deal with these challenges.
"Home Start volunteers go into people's homes and give them the help they need, when they need it.
"For some that help might be advice in parenting, a lesson in how to deal with certain situations, an extra pair of hands in the supermarket or just the chance to take a much-needed break while someone else looks after the children.
"Home Start ensures volunteers are given all the training they need to make a real difference to people's lives.
"And the Open Day was a chance to see the very real difference their help and support makes to families across Tameside.
"This is an organisation that helps to make our communities stronger. And I hope they will continue to go from strength to strength."
