IPSA: Publication of parliamentary expenses (April 2011)

parliamentTHE body set up to administer parliamentary expenses has published the details of claims made by Members of Parliament in November and December.

The claims are published on a bi-monthly basis by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA).

They include all expense claims made by MPs with the exception of some office and staffing costs, which will be published annually.

The data published this week shows that during November and December Jonathan Reynolds claimed a total of £3879.49.

The bulk of these claims were for accommodation costs and office costs. They also included £85 for the purchase of a uniform for Jonathan's participation in the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme.

Claims that are recorded by IPSA also include a small number for the advertising of Jonathan's MP surgeries and website through Facebook, totalling £59.51. Although the claims were considered appropriate by IPSA, Jonathan subsequently decided he did not wish to use Parliamentary monies to fund publicity. And he has repaid these claims to IPSA.
