IPSA: Publication of Parliamentary Expenses

parliamentTHE new body set up to administer parliamentary expenses has published the details of 20,000 claims made by Members of Parliament between May and August.

The claims are the first to be made public by the new Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA).

In future IPSA say claims made by MPs will be routinely published every two months. Data relating to office and staffing costs will be published once a year.

The data published today shows that between his election as an MP and the end of August Stalybridge and Hyde MP Jonathan Reynolds claimed a total of £5857.

The bulk of this - £5099.35 - was to meet accommodation costs in London, including some initial hotel costs. Other claims include travel to and from the constituency and computer equipment.

A full breakdown of the claims made by Jonathan can be found at www.ipsa-home.org.uk or at www.parliamentary-standards.org.uk
