Back in September, Let’s Talk About Hyde was launched. 1,300 Hydonions responded to the survey on the future of the town centre and beyond, and 200 people attended in person consultations events including the ‘pop-up shop’ in the Clarendon Centre. Now, some initial ideas are forming, both long and short term, and your views are needed once more.

Hemingway Design and GL Hearn are working with Tameside Council and have now shared their Draft Masterplan for Hyde. Potential ideas include remodelling the market square as a green and inviting space, repurposing the town hall for cultural and community use to create a vibrant hub, improving safe and pleasant pedestrian and cycle access, improving transport links and investing in a better market offer. They want to know your thoughts, so please take a moment to respond  and be part of the vision. I’m excited to see the plans taking shape, and hope you are too- this is a real opportunity for Hyde.
